Creating an animated short film is, for many people in this industry, the most personal proposal for turning their ideas into art. It’s about telling the most personal stories or simply the story you truly want to tell.

This past year, I had the opportunity at La Salle Campus Barcelona to mentor the project “Ventanas,” a graduation animated short film for the Animation & VFX degree. The group was formed by students Oriol Pérez, Mireia Matilla, Al Serrano, Lidia Rodríguez, Mar Cebrián, and Emanuel Espinoza—a team of young people with an immense capacity to create and tell stories, possessing excellent artistic and technical sensitivity.

I was able to assist them from the initial timeline creation to the final rendering of the short, guiding them and providing the tools to transform their ideas into frames and reality. By helping with animation supervision, I can now proudly say that “Ventanas” is the first short film from this university to win 6 awards at festivals and achieve 30 official selections, a journey that is just beginning and will pave the way for future generations in this program.
